Economic Profile

The Houston Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area, or PMSA, (defined as the region surrounding Houston including the Counties of Chambers, Fort Bend, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, and Waller) has sis predicted to grow from 5.5 to 8.5 million people from 2005 to 2035. Much of the growth has occurred in the southwestern and northern sections of the Houston area with Katy and Tomball being major recipients. Moreover, the northwestern section of the Houston area has experienced significant population growth over the past 10 years, particularly along the US 290 corridor.

This dramatic growth will continue to occur in the southwestern and northwestern sections of Houston, placing Waller in the path of Houston’s expansion.

Waller is at an important crossroad, and our community leaders have developed a strategic plan to enable the city to capture the economic opportunities that lay ahead of us.
