Our Mission

The Waller Economic Development Corporation’s mission is to facilitate personal achievement and business success by connecting people to the finest education, technology, and business resources.

We will achieve our mission by expanding regional employment opportunities, proactively planning for growth, and developing community leaders.

Mission Goal

As Houston grows toward us, it is our goal to become a regional employment center, providing quality job opportunities for local citizens to be able to work locally and have the option to replace commuting time with family and community time.

WEDC was created as a 4A development corporation by vote of the citizens of Waller in 1999 to begin to collect a half-cent sales tax to promote economic development. The five board members are appointed by City Council and serve three-year terms. As a 4A corporation under the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979, we are authorized to expend public funds to promote the retention and attraction of companies who produce or distribute products which are marketed regionally, nationally, or internationally.
